Prior to joining P.K. Schrieffer LLP, James Bernald’s practice focused on insurance coverage and coverage litigation. He has experience with claims arising from loss under a broad range of policies including commercial general liability, property, business interruption, directors’ and officers’, errors and omissions, employment practices liability, media liability, life, and disability.

Mr. Bernald is a graduate of the Gould School of Law of the University of Southern California. Prior to earning his juris doctorate, he attended Pomona College, where he obtained a political science degree and played on the basketball team with the current head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. Mr. Bernald is admitted to practice law in the Superior Court of California, all federal district courts in California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Bernald is a native of Northern California and enjoys spending time with his wife, two boys, and labrador retriever.
