Lora A. Schneider
Lora Schneider joined the litigation team at P.K. Schrieffer when it opened its Las Vegas, Nevada office in August of 2020. Ms. Schneider relocated from New England to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2005. She is a former prosecutor for the City of Las Vegas and is currently a Judge Pro Tempore for Henderson Municipal Court in Henderson, Nevada.
Ms. Schneider has practiced law in a wide array of areas. She has defended physicians, dentists, nurses, group homes and assisted living facilities in medical and dental malpractice claims and lawsuits brought against vulnerable and elderly persons in the insurance defense arena. Ms. Schneider has also defended nurses before the Nevada State Nursing Board regarding various complaints. She has defended employers in workers’ compensation claims and has engaged in the insurance defense practice litigating motor vehicle personal injury, wrongful death and products liability claims. Ms. Schneider has defended general contractors and subcontractors in construction defect, in addition to defending Las Vegas, Nevada casinos on premises liability actions, including criminal acts by third-parties.
Ms. Schneider is admitted to practice in Nevada State and Federal Courts. She received her bachelor’s degree with Honors in Literature and Liberal Arts, including screenwriting and film, from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Ms. Schneider received her J.D. from Western New England University School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts and has been practicing since 2007.
Ms. Schneider has been recognized as a Lawyer of Distinction. In March 2015, the United States District Court, District of Nevada published Zurich American Ins. Co. v. Intermodal Maintenance Services, Inc., 2015 WL 1280748. Ms. Schneider was successful on a motion for summary judgment that involved an issue pertaining to conflicts of law and whether the statute of limitations in Nebraska or Nevada applied.
