David J. Hart


David Hart joins P.K. Schrieffer LLP as part of its litigation team. Mr. Hart is a proud graduate of San Diego State University, with a B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting) and a minor in Economics. He went on to receive his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  

After passing the North Carolina Bar, Mr. Hart successfully litigated major and minor matters for Higgins, Frankstone, Graves & Morris, P.A. in Cary and Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with an emphasis on commercial and residential real estate law, but also included personal injury defense, corporate disputes, bankruptcy, trademark issues, liens, and disputes with the North Carolina Employment Security Commission. He successfully mediated a business dispute chaired by former North Carolina Supreme Court Justice James G. Exum. He has represented congressional candidates of both parties. 

Mr. Hart returned to California in 2005, where he passed the Bar exam and continued his career as a litigator with Kaloogian & Fuselier, LLP in Carlsbad, where his major litigated matters again included commercial and residential real estate, mobilehome residency law, medical malpractice, corporate disputes and civil rights.

Mr. Hart served as Articles Editor of the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation, and worked closely with North Carolina Attorney General Lacy Thornburg for an article in the Journal, along with legal scholars from Sweden, Côte d’Ivoire, Japan and Washington D.C for other articles. He also studied International Law and International Business Transactions in Paris, France with Professor Diane Wood of the University of Chicago, now Chief United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. 

Mr. Hart is pleased to join P.K. Schrieffer LLP and their impressive team.  In his next life, Mr. Hart hopes to pitch for the San Diego Padres and play rhythm guitar for the Rolling Stones.  He looks forward to the end of COVID-19 when you will find him at Petco Park and the Hollywood Bowl with friends and family once again.
