Ashton L. McKinnon
Ashton L. McKinnon is part of P.K. Schrieffer LLP's litigation team where she focuses her practice on complex civil litigation, including insurance defense, construction defect, premises liability, products liability, business and professional liability, contract disputes and other general tort claims.
Over the course of her career, Ms. McKinnon has handled a variety of matters involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premises liability, products liability, construction defect, automobile/trucking liability, employment law, health care liability, business litigation, breach of contract, subrogation and recovery, and retail/restaurant/hospitality and personal injury defense. Ms. McKinnon has extensive experience with all aspects of handling complex civil litigation from inception through trial, and practices with a focused approach on early resolution through alternative dispute resolution methods to minimize client risk and exposure.
Originally from St. Simons Island, Georgia, Ms. McKinnon received her BA in Journalism from the University of Georgia, cum laude, in 2011. She earned her JD from Pepperdine University School of Law and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute in 2015, where she was a writer and associate editor for the Journal of the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary. Her publications include "Sacrificing Privacy for Convenience: The Need for Stricter FTC Regulations in an Age of Smartphone Surveillance", (2014)(34 J. Nat'l Ass'n Admin. L. Judiciary 484).
Ms. McKinnon was admitted to the State Bar of California and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California in 2016 and is licensed to practice law in all California state and federal courts.
